Music Along the Road

I mentioned in a earlier post that Sandra and I attended a performance of Music City Roots. One of the artists that night was Buddy Greene, harmonica player extraordinaire. Impressed by what we heard, we bought his most recent recording, Harmonica Anthology.

Simply, it's better than I expected. It was one of the cds we brought along for the trip to Giant City. I was already impressed by his "Classical Medley", a blend of parts from Bach, Mozart, and Rossini. Like I wrote earlier, Buddy can flat-out play, though the arrangement on the medley is equally impressive. While that number might be the highlight for me, the cd mixes slow songs with nice upbeat shuffles to create a great set of tunes to accompany a drive.

To catch more of Buddy, you can visit his website. You can also view his May 25th Music Roots performance on Livestream. He was the last act of the night.
