Coming back later on Friday, Sandra checked the mailbox and discovered the eagerly anticipated (at least by me) echo boom. We had heard The Farewell Drifters play at Music City Roots and pre-paid for their latest release, an effort which didn't disappoint me. From jangley guitars to warm vocal melodies and harmonies, the songs bounce along, culminating in a wicked violin solo, one of the finest I've heard, on the 10th track "You Were There".
This is definitely one which will be staying in the musical rotation.
I always worry about putting a not when there shouldn't be one, or missing the not when there should be one. Well, in this case, I missed it. Echo boom is an effort which "didn't" disappoint me. I have it correct now.
