Cave of the Mounds

The coolness is the first thing you notice. You go below the earth's surface several feet and the temperature stays fairly constant, about 50 degrees. The other thing is the darkness. The cave is artificially lit, but when the lights go out, it's pitch black.

I shot the first images without a flash to better catch the feel of the darkness.
