APOD again

I haven't mentioned it in a while, but NASA's site, Astronomy Picture of the Day, showcases excellent photography of the natural world with a special emphasis on the night sky.

Yesterday's focus, The Milky Way Over the Peak of the Furnace, was a photograph made by Luc Perrot of one of the most active volcanoes in the world, Piton de la Fournaise. The image captures an eruption while the night, dominated by the arc of the Milky Way, spreads across the sky.

Check it out by clicking The Milky Way Over the Peak of the Furnace.
It's incredible.
