Indian Creek Nature Trail, Part Two

There's something to being on trail. I won't say indescribable, because I will try to describe. It's warmth, the sun breaking through the branches, the smell of greenness, the constant reminders of little crawling wildlife, the cycle of life rising and falling.

And a sense of time. Some things are quick, like how insects crawl and eat the leaves, prey tangles in a spider's web. And slower, like trees reaching upward for their leaves to find the sun. And even slower, like how the bluffs form and a rock becomes a clearing.

You pause to take in the moment, to listen to call of a crow, to stare at a wildflower, but you don't stop, because there is more life ahead in the air, next to the water...

Being becomes the myriad of colors, some glassy and reflected, some sunlit, some hidden in the shadows.
