Tennessee State Fair

The Fair has arrived at the Tennessee State Capital. It's part carnival, part animal exhibition, but that doesn't include everything. There is a speedway hosting events (though tonight's Demolition Derby was cancelled) and displays of award winners from contests like heaviest pumpkin to best of show in photography and quiltmaking.

The fair is a place where you can see cows and baby chicks, hit the bumper cars, listen to music, catch acrobats showing strength and balance, and then view very good amateur photographs--quite an eclectic collection. The event runs through September 18th in Nashville. For me, must-sees are the animals, the Ag Building, and the Creative Arts Zone. You can check out more information at the Tennessee State Fair website.
